Based in Zurich, and subject to Swiss law, the Julius Baer Foundation is closely linked to the Julius Baer Group, which provides financial and administrative assistance, as well as personnel support. This ensures that the Foundation operates autonomously and that every donation received is used to fund its broad range of projects. To further underline Julius Baer’s commitment to the Foundation, every donation received will be matched by the Bank.

The Foundation is governed by the Foundation Board – senior executives from Bank Julius Baer and external experts – who determine the policies and strategic focus of the Foundation, and define project selection, duration of support, and fund allocation. The Board meets four times a year and grant decisions are made at three of the meetings. The Board also determines the Foundation’s investment policy, which covers risk assessment and monitoring. The General Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of the Foundation.
