Singapore, 13 April 2023 – A seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience in the wealth management sector, Yee has consistently delivered results and cultivated strong client relationships for the Bank. His extensive knowledge and management expertise make him an ideal leader to strengthen Julius Baer’s presence in the South East Asia market. Yee was most recently Group Head South East Asia at the Bank. Prior to joining Julius Baer in 2015, he had worked with Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and J.P. Morgan. He will report to Jimmy LEE, Member of the Executive Board, Julius Baer Group Ltd and Head Asia Pacific.

Julius Baer demonstrates its commitment to nurturing talent from within by appointing Tan as Singapore Branch Manager, who will report to Lee. This new responsibility supplements his current roles as Greater China (Singapore) Location Head and Group Head. In his expanded position, he will oversee the Singapore Branch’s daily operations, risk controls, and governance. The Bank is confident that his leadership and experience will contribute to the continued growth of the Singapore office. Benjamin SIM will continue in his role as Deputy Branch Manager and COO Singapore.
“Yee Kim has played a crucial role in the success of our Hong Kong and Singapore branches, and we are delighted to appoint him to Branch Manager,” said Lee. “His leadership skills, expertise, and business knowledge make him the ideal candidate to lead the Singapore office and drive growth in the region.”
In addition, Tay, a seasoned banker who most recently served as Head of Wealth Planning and Family Office Services, Singapore, will assume Yee’s previous role as Group Head South East Asia and will report to Yee in his new role as Head South East Asia. Tay has vast experience in managing client relationships, building teams, and offering in-depth knowledge of wealth planning and family office solutions - key focus areas for Julius Baer’s regional clients.
As Julius Baer intensifies its focus on Asia, the Bank’s second home market, it is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and unique, tailor-made solutions to clients in South East Asia, and is committed to strengthening its bench and promoting internal talent. With Singapore and Hong Kong hosting two of the Group’s seven booking centres and employing 24% of the total workforce, these locations have become the second- and third-largest Group hubs. The appointments of Yee, Tan, and Tay to their new roles underscore Julius Baer’s unwavering dedication to cultivating in-house talent and ensuring sustained growth and success in the region.
